An early-stage HR tech company was burning through SDR time and tool spend chasing a 14,000-name list bought from a data vendor. Reply rates were under 1 percent. Their best AE was about to quit out of frustration with the leads.
We rebuilt the research from scratch. We mapped the ICP to companies that had recently raised a seed or Series A, posted a People Ops role in the last 60 days, and were still on a starter HR stack. The new list was 312 accounts. Reply rate jumped to 6.2 percent. The team booked 41 qualified calls in the first 90 days, with three closed deals before the quarter ended. Same SDRs, same outreach, much better list.
